Garlic Growing

Garlic is a very popular root vegetable, that is, as well with flavouring, often used decoratively, plaited.
The end of January is one of the latest times that you can plant garlic. It should be planted in rows, about 2-4 cm deep, and 15 cm apart.
You often get best results from keeping it under a cloche outdoors. When the bulbs are fully established or there is no more frost, you can remove this.
The garlic should be harvested when the bulbs are fully developed. This can vary greatly, but is normally in Autumn.
